My journey
I love science and medicine just as much as I love art. As a veterinarian, I’ve cared for countless animals from horses and cattle in Southwest Virginia, to dogs and cats in my hometown of Boone, North Carolina. Veterinary medicine has given me the privilege of walking alongside families during some of their happiest moments and some of their most difficult. I have truly been witness to the truth that our animals are never “just pets.” They are companions, confidants, faithful friends, and members of our family.
From exams to easels
Those experiences have changed the way I paint and draw. Every portrait I create is more than an accurate likeness, because my goal is to preserve the spark that makes your companion unique — the soft sparkle in their eyes, the tilt of their ears, the expression that greets you at the door or pasture gate each day. Whether your pet is still curled up at our feet, resting peacefully in their stall, or has become a treasured memory, I want you to have a piece of fine art that brings you back to the love you shared.
A fine art heirloom
Each portrait is created by hand using traditional fine art techniques — including oil paints on canvas and board, colored pencils, and pastel — with careful attention to every detail. My hope is that your portrait becomes a family heirloom — a lasting reminder of the unconditional love you animals have given you and the treasured memories that never fade.
